Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is a special time of year where we gather with our loved ones and friends to celebrate and give thanks for all our blessings.

A few years ago, I was at a marketing seminar in LA and shocked to hear about the challenges people face. Despite past tribulations, they still show up and are thankful for the blessings in their life. This inspired me to write this blog.

At the seminar, one speaker shared what had happened to him over the past five days. He'd had knee surgery, 12 people had been killed from a mass shooting at his local bar, and he and his family had been evacuated from their home because of fires in the area. As he spoke, his voice welled with emotion. Many people joined the conversation because they too had been affected by the shootings and the fires.

He said they only had 20 minutes to evacuate their home. He and his family ran through the house gathering photos and precious items. Because he had knee surgery the day before, he had thrown down his crutches and raced around his home gathering family belongings. He had done what he had to do. It was obvious to everyone that he was in a lot of physical and emotional pain.

When he talked about the shootings, he said that many of the people who died were young college students—some that he and his family knew. These events devastated the community. It had been a traumatic week, but he was so grateful that he and his family were safe and that their home was still there. Many people lost their homes in the fires.

At first, I couldn’t believe what had happened and that he was even here with us holding seminar. I thought to myself—here is a true leader. He was honouring his commitment and thankful we came. His vulnerability and pain touched everyone’s hearts. We followed his lead by being truly present, honest, and vulnerable with each other. Something happened in the room that day, there was a deep connection between the group.

At the end of the seminar, I told my colleague how happy I was that I had decided to attend the seminar and be part of this business community. This took business to a new level—one of community, being heart-centered, and supporting each. Together we all win.

I give thanks for the blessings in my life such as family, friends, food, water and shelter. For myself, I witnessed that even in tragedy and loss, there is so much to give thanks for. May you all be blessed and spread your abundance to others to create communities that support and lift everyone up.

Through my personal journey, I have found a road to deep healing using holistic modalities including Neo-shamanism, plant remedies, energetic protocols, codes and meditation. I teach others the same tools and strategies so they can establish, and maintain, healthy boundaries.

I offer 1:1 sessions where together, we work through unhealed core wounds, often developed during childhood, and energetically clear them. Clearing mental and emotional blockages provides a pathway to healing, inner wisdom, and life transformation. Work with me and take your life to the next level! Feel free to connect with me here for a Discovery Session.
